Who We Are
Ekimuli means "flower" in Luganda. We are a Kampala-based artisan perfume house dedicated to capturing the essence of Uganda in every bottle.
Our Story
Ekimuli was founded in 2019 by perfumer Amara Nakato in her family kitchen in Ntinda, Kampala. Frustrated by imported fragrances that ignored Africa's incredible botanical diversity, she set out to create something truly local.
Today, Ekimuli works with over 40 local farmers and distillers across Uganda — sourcing oud from Masindi, hibiscus from Arua, vanilla from Bundibugyo and sandalwood from Mbarara. Our supply chain is transparent, fair-trade and entirely Ugandan.
Each fragrance in our catalogue tells a story — of a place, a memory or a moment in Ugandan life. We believe perfume is one of the most personal ways to carry culture with you, wherever you go.
